Not-so-Northern Lights

What might be easy to mistake for a lake in northern Canada, Scandinavia, or Alaska is actually the Quabbin Reservoir in western Massachusetts. A brief auroral substorm during the Perseid meteor shower allowed me to capture these stunning colors right here in my proverbial backyard.
